Landyn Bowers
Hey There!
I am Landyn Bowers, a teacher, reader, adventurer, and New Adult Fantasy and Poetry Writer. I spend most of my time in Biddeford, Maine, with my three cats and snake, teaching 6th graders the importance and magic of Storytelling. I aim to have every student in my classroom understand the power of their story and perspective and see them understand that they are represented in the world and books around them.
When I am not teaching, I am filling my life with consuming and creating stories, from reading to the weekly dungeon and dragon adventures to creating and exploring my own world. My stories capture classic themes such as love, grief, and self-discovery with new twists, perspectives, and complex characters. I strive to create honest, inclusive, realistic, and diverse stories full of adventure and hard lessons.
In 2017, I published my first poetry collection, “Around the World and Back Again,” highlighting my travels on the MV World Odyssey with Semester at sea as I circumnavigated the globe. I was fortunate enough to study the cultures and literature of the twelve countries I visited. Last year, 2023, my second collection of poetry was published. “The Lessons I’ve Paid For” is a vulnerable and honest reflection of my experience throughout my 20s. Highlighting my struggles with love, identity, and finding my place in the world.
And while I am still looking and exploring, I find comfort in writing about characters doing the same.
